GeneWorks was proudly involved in the delivery and installation of a portable molecular laboratory- constructed inside a shipping container, and purpose-built to help deliver veterinary diagnostic services in Dili, Timor-Leste.

This laboratory will serve to strengthen field services and provide early warning systems for major biosecurity threats to Timor-Leste.

Diagnostic test kits were also manufactured and supplied by GeneWorks for the detection of key animal diseases such as African swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease, as part of the ongoing development and care to better prepare to protect both Australia’s and Timor-Leste’s animals and industries from biosecurity threats.

GeneWorks is honoured to have been a part of the ceremony and the opening of the container laboratory; attended and launched by both the Timorese Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Pedro dos Reis and the Australian Ambassador Bill Costello.
