The Byonoy GmbH, a branch-off from the university of Kiel, has – since 2015 – concerned itself with the miniaturisation of 96-well microplate readers. Thanks to their innovative approach, Byonoy has been successful in establishing an unprecedented, ultra-compact format - the Absorbance 96, a new category of plate readers.
With a base surface area that is scarcely larger than the microplate itself, the Absorbance 96 is by far the most compact microplate reader for assays in 96-well formal on the market. In spite of its form, the Absorbance 96 delivers reliable results at an affordable price.
In combination with the Byonoy proprietary software, the Absorbance 96 lends itself to a wide range of applications from ELISA to protein- and cell-based assays. Furthermore, the Absorbance 96 is the first reader on the market to use 96 detection units. This innovation allows the Absorbance 96 to measure independent of a scanning mechanism, thereby ensuring quick photometric measurements and is, through its use of LED-technology, maintenance free.
