Human Bacteroides spp. LAMP Detection Kit
Bacteroides spp. are Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria that form a major part of the normal human gut microbiota, where they contribute to digestion, metabolic functions, and protection against colonisation by invasive pathogens. They are also widely used as molecular indicators of human faecal contamination in environmental and water testing because of their high abundance and specificity to the human gut. However, when the intestinal barrier is disrupted or in immunocompromised individuals, they can act as opportunistic pathogens, causing abscesses, bacteraemia, septicaemia, and severe systemic infection.
Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) is a molecular biology technique that copies DNA or RNA at a single, constant temperature. By eliminating the rapid heat cycling required by traditional PCR, this method relies on specialized strand-displacement polymerases to unzip and replicate genetic material.
This biological approach removes the need for expensive, bulky thermal cyclers, allowing assays to run on simple, low-cost heating equipment. Delivering highly sensitive results in just 20 to 30 minutes, isothermal amplification provides a fast, affordable, and exceptionally portable solution for field testing and decentralized point-of-care diagnostics.
The Human Bacteroides spp. LAMP Detection Kit simplifies detection of Human Bacteroides spp. nucleic acid by amplifying target DNA at a constant temperature.
- All-in-one box: reagents and plasticware included
- Results in under 30 min
Platform: Genie LITE, Genie III and Genie HT
Application: Nucleic Acid detection of Human Bacteroides spp.
